During my recent stay at Dondejose Bed & Breakfast, I was treated to an experience that blended the warmth of family hospitality with a touch of culinary delight. Our hosts, José and Liz, welcomed us with open arms, making every effort to ensure our comfort was paramount. While the accommodation reflects the charm of a traditional home rather than a polished hotel, it provided a unique glimpse into the lives of native Panamanians. Each morning, we indulged in the continental breakfast, featuring freshly baked bread that offered a delightful start to the day. I particularly appreciated the comforting touch of homemade jam, paired with a cup of excellent coffee. While I wasn't feeling my best on one occasion, the hosts were incredibly thoughtful, offering probiotics and even preparing a soothing soup upon request. Liz and José's enthusiasm for sharing local hikes further enriched our experience, as they accompanied us on excursions, deepening our connection to the area. Dondejose is a charming getaway for those who seek to immerse themselves in local culture while enjoying satisfying culinary moments. I would gladly return for another stay and the chance to explore more of its offerings.
